02--German Red (Rocambole)
This rich, strong and very spicy garlic came to this country over a hundred years ago with German immigrants, and continues to flourish in colder areas of our country. A vigorous grower with purple and brown skin, this variety generally produces 8 or 9 good-sized cloves per bulb. |
10--Blanak (Rocambole)
Mid-season. This spicy, vigorous, cold hardy Rocambole from Bulgaria produces elephant, pearly white heads with chunky cloves. Blanak's cloves are covered with a shiny purple taupe colored skin that is easily peeled. The flavor is fiery and lasting, great for roasting, salsa making, and adding zing to pickles. |
